Issues

Affordability

One year of childcare for two kids in St. Louis costs $50,000, if you’re lucky. The median home price in the 4th District is more than $600,000. Grocery prices rose a half percentage point between July and August alone. This is unsustainable. As a husband and father of twin boys, I know how hard it is for families to keep up with rising costs. I’m committed to making Missouri more affordable by fighting for housing, lowering childcare and healthcare costs, protecting working families’ paychecks, and reducing everyday expenses like utilities and prescription drugs. I want families like mine to be able to live, work, and thrive here.

Safe Streets

Safe streets are essential for a successful St. Louis. Too many drivers ignore basic traffic laws and continue to put other St. Louisans at risk of serious injury and death. When I worked as an assistant circuit attorney for the City of St. Louis, I was responsible for investigating and issuing all vehicular homicide cases. This experience underscored the importance of effective traffic laws and enforcement, strong investment into infrastructure and maintenance, and adoption of new technology to hold reckless drivers accountable.

Good Schools

As a lifelong product of public schools, I know how transformative education can be. It gave me the opportunity to create the career I wanted. I want my children and every Missouri child to have those same opportunities, no matter their zip code. That’s why I support fully funding public schools, investing in teachers, expanding early childhood education, and making higher education and skills training more affordable.

Reproductive Freedom

In Missouri, Republicans have tried to take away some of the most personal freedoms we have. Now, they’re saying voters “didn’t know what they were voting for” when we overturned a total abortion ban. I disagree. Missourians know exactly what they want: the right to make their own healthcare decisions without government interference. I will protect reproductive rights in our state Constitution, defend access to contraception and fertility care, and trust families, not politicians, to make personal medical decisions.

Organized Labor

I stand with Missouri workers and the unions that fight for fair pay, safe working conditions, and workplace protections. After voters passed a measure to increase the minimum wage and guarantee earned sick leave, only to have it overturned by Missouri Republicans, it’s clear workers need strong advocates in Jefferson City. I support unions in creating apprenticeship and skills programs as alternatives to higher education, helping workers gain meaningful careers without crushing debt. When unions help families thrive, we all do better. I will fight to strengthen labor rights and ensure every Missouri worker can earn a living wage, build skills, and provide for their families.

LGBTQ+

Equality is shorthand for something greater: the freedom to be yourself without the fear of discrimination and harm. Despite recognition of marriage equality by the Supreme Court in 2015, Missouri Republicans remain committed to stripping LGBTQ+ people of basic human rights. These efforts by Missouri Republicans work to marginalize families and make everyone worse off. Missouri families need representation from someone committed to fighting for full equality for the LGBTQ+ community.

Small Businesses

Small businesses are an indispensable part of our St. Louis neighborhoods and serve as a gateway to a better quality of life for many families. Yet, starting and maintaining a small business has never been harder. Skyrocketing insurance premiums, difficult-to-access credit, and unaddressed concerns about crime pose serious threats. I’m committed to working with entrepreneurs to create a landscape where small business have access to resources needed to thrive and remain sustainable.

Tornado Recovery

When the tornado damaged my family’s home in DeBaliviere Place, I saw firsthand how tough recovery can be. North St. Louis, already short on resources, was left to fend for itself when disaster struck on May 16th. Many families who were most severely impacted continue to fight with insurance companies, who have little if any oversight from Jefferson City. I’ll fight to secure every state and federal dollar available, cut through red tape, and make sure relief reaches the families and neighborhoods that need it most—so we can rebuild stronger, safer, and together.
